Game on! - Night II

After watching Sydney skip around the soccer field in excitement Monday night, it was AJ's turn Tuesday to play his first game. What a difference in intensity between the U6 and U8 levels. It's the difference between games that are funny to watch and those that are fun to watch.

As always, AJ came ready to play.

He's the tallest, fastest and - in his fourth year - the most experienced player on his team.

And he's throwing his whole body into the game. He's not afraid to take one for the team.

The slide move he perfected in baseball this season is serving him well.

I was really impressed with how hard he played and by how well the team is already playing together.

A special note to cousin Jessica - check out the neon green on his shoes. He picked those out with you in mind. (Never mind that they're so big they'd probably fit you. I wasn't with when he picked them out. On a positive note, I'm fairly certain they'll still fit him next year.)

Back to the game... it ended in a tie, 1-1. AJ did not score, but surprisingly didn't seem too upset about it. He knew that his coaches and his parents were extremely proud of how well he played.

And at least for that game, it was enough.
