I am the worst aunt ever.
Two days with my family in the Cities for Christmas, and how many photos did I get of my new niece? Zero.
I got shots of all the other kids. Playing with phones....
Giggling and looking adorable (I'm talking about Finn, not my brother. It's been a few years since Eric qualified as adorable.)
More playing games on phones... (what did we do to keep kids quiet at restaurants before smart phones came along?)
But no pictures of Zoe.
We finished my brother-in-law's birthday lunch and headed back to their house to open presents. Once their, I managed to take pictures of my sister's (formerly my parent's) bird. It's the Alex and Alex show:
And my sister's dog getting presents...
And more pictures of my sister's dog...
And everybody else...
But no Zoe.
If she'd taken a more active role in unwrapping her presents, it would have been a lot easier. But I suppose that's expecting a lot of an infant.
My kids were suitably thrilled with all they were given. AJ would have been ready to head off to a pretend war, if he weren't so busy playing his new xBox hockey game.
Wait! Wait! If you enlarge this photo and squint really hard, you can sort of see Zoe in the photo on my parents' new t-shirts.
At least there's proof she was around this year. Let's all sing and celebrate! Or just pound a few keys on the piano.
Merry Christmas! (A week or so late.)
