Family bonding time

In case anyone was wondering, it IS possible to fit our entire family in the very small bathroom between AJ and Sydney's room. Glad to have that burning question answered.

This morning, as Sydney sat on the potty, I perched on the side of the tub to read her a story. Instead of Polar Bear, Polar Bear, her book of choice this morning was the appropriately named Dear God. I believe that two-word plea passed through my thoughts multiple times over the next few minutes.

Because first AJ joined us. He'd been repeatedly clearing his throat, so Jeff suggested he get a drink of water and rinse out his mouth. That led to the suggestion to brush his teeth as long as he was already standing in front of the sink.

"He's pouring her JUICE. She has hat on." Sydney tried to bring my attention back to the book, pointing out the same illustrations she comments on every time we read the book.

Now Jeff is in the bathroom, too, trying to help AJ put toothpaste on the toothbrush.

"She has kitty. His eyes are closed." Sydney's still reading.

"I think I swallowed some! I think I swallowed some!" Because the situation wasn't chaotic enough with four of us crammed into this tiny space, AJ is now panicking because he doesn't think he fully spit out all the big boy toothpaste. As Jeff tried calming him, I did my best to sneak Sydney and myself out of the tight confines so that I could get her dressed. AJ's shouts had attracted Maggie, who of course was now trying to squeeze her 70+ pounds as close to the action as possible.

Dear God...
