More baseball basics

I believe there's a line that, in life, we must crawl before we can walk, and walk before we can run.

In baseball, I guess the analogy is you must crawl...


before you can be part of the firing squad.

And you must learn to listen to the coach...

before you head out to the field.

Because that's how you learn the very important crouch to catch the ball in an alligator trap.

I've always said that baseball is my favorite sport to watch because, unlike football and hockey, I understand most of the rules. But watching AJ's practice, I realize that I, like him, have plenty to learn.
