Gusts of fun

Baseball season started this week, and AJ was so excited for the first practice he just couldn't wait. I arrived home shortly before he and Jeff were set to leave, and found him doing the best thing he could think of to pass the time: tossing a ball up in the air and trying to catch it. Over and over and over again.

He definitely needed the practice keeping his eye on the ball. Making it unfairly difficult: wind gusts affecting the ball's course almost as much as the effects of gravity did.

He kept at it (thus giving me plenty of opportunities to photograph his efforts) and finally he caught it, just in time to head to the ball field for a very windy practice.

When he got back home, AJ couldn't wait to tell me he was the first one on his team to make it to home plate. Let's hope he keeps this level of enthusiasm throughout the season. Assuming the wind doesn't last, I think the next two months should be a lot of fun.
