What a character!

As I think I've mentioned before, Sydney did not enjoy meeting the life-size, costumed Disney characters. She basically had the same reaction to them as she did to Santa Claus.

AJ, on the other hand, was willing to wait in long lines to have his picture taken. though his reaction differed depending on the character when he finally got up close to them. For instance, with Snow White at Epcot, he turned into the Bashful dwarf.

Sydney proclaimed that Minnie was her favorite character, so as long as AJ stood as the buffer, she was willing to pose with her. Note how she's trying to hold her polka dot jacket so that it flares out at the bottom, similar to Minnie's polka dot dress.

Epcot Center is kind to parents. They have Mickie and friends set up in one building, so you only have to wait in one initial line, and then you can move along from character to character.

Here are a few other characters AJ found. At Disney there was Pinocchio...

And Peter Pan. Thankfully, the boy who will never grow up seemed in no hurry to send us on our way, because AJ pulled his shy act initially. This was his idol after all! He's watched the movie and sequel a million times and even had a birthday party themed after him. But finally AJ warmed up, giving us this fun shot:

AJ's favorite, though, is Donald Duck. He thinks it's funny how Donald acts when he gets mad – something about how he waves his arms (wings?) around and sputters. I suspect that's what they were doing when Jeff snapped this shot at Animal Kingdom.

Even Mommy had to step in for a shot with this duck. Having the nickname I've had since age 6, how could I not get picture taken with Donald?
